CALEXICO— U.S. Customs and Border protection officers seized $274,000 in cash around 6 p.m. yesterday.
The money was hidden in a non-factory metal compartment behind the back seat rest of a 1999 Cadillac El Dorado. The male driver was a U.S. citizen, according to a press release.
If leaving or coming into the United States with more than $10,000 one must declare it.
