Portion of Interstate 8 dedicated to fallen CHP officer (6-27-08, 4:48 p.m.)

WINTERHAVEN— A portion of Interstate 8 in Imperial County will be dedicated to California Highway Patrol Officer Robert Dickey.

Dickey lost his life on June 10, 2007 while on duty.

The signs honoring Dickey will be located on Interstate 8 in Winterhaven, between Sidewinder road and Ogilby road.

Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia authored the bill to dedicate the portion of the interstate. It was unanimously passed by the California State Assembly yesterday.
