The Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the closure of the public dental program at the county.
The closure of the program will eliminate three positions: dentist, registered dental assistant and office assistant.
Director of Public Health Robin Hodgkin said most of the patients that use the county dental program are children who receive Medi-Cal benefits.
The program is now serving 51 patients, but the county has been in contact with Western Dental and Clinicas de Salud de Pueblo to provide services to these patients.
