A body was discovered in the Palo Verde mountain area on Monday, said Lt. George Moreno from Imperial County Sheriff's Department.
The Palo Verde mountain area is 60 miles northeast of Brawley.
Authorities have not confirmed if the body is that of missing mixed martial arts fighter, Evan Tanner, who had fought in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Tanner, 37, has been missing since last weekend.
Tanner's friends from Oceanside, where Tanner resides, had been texting him without reply since Wednesday before they reported him missing on Friday.
On Sunday, a campsite was discovered in the Clapp Springs area of the Palo Verde mountains. Tanner's motorcycle was found at the campsite. A body was found today when a sheriffs deputy was flying around the general location of the campsite.
The Imperial County deputy coroner is being flown in to retrieve and identify body.

A lot of lecturers like to study the writing skills, so, students have to choose custom dissertation to order dissertation workshop. In such way people confirm the writing technique. And besides you have to take thesis writing.

something isnt right about this...how can he be found missing when he was said to have been found in the desert not far from the campsite dead...and then now your saying he was found at the campsite dead? why hasnt this been further investigated because i can more than guarintee this was a setup. someone higher up did it and i can say without a doubt it was covered up. Why didnt his friends go search back at the campsite if he was found there? why wasnt he able to contact anyone? even if his phone wasnt working 911 would be able to locate him by gps which all phones have now. why was concern raised 3 days later if they all new that he couldnt have strayed with the desert even after all the gas he lost, they should have known he couldnt make it anywhere even close to a town or city. why dont you think about it because if you do im sure youll want to see the real autopsy report as well as detailed written reports from the other officers involved in the matter as well as his friends that went with him. Something is being covered up and someones not talking...now can you tell me who?

I became a fan of MMA after watching Evan fight. A very tragic ending to what was an amazing life.
My prayers are with you and yours, Evan.
Thank You for the memories

After reading Evans' blogs I realize that Evan is my brother more than I could have guessed, a kindred spirit. Someone who I could have met on a trail, seeking beauty and the great spirit in the wilderness. I solute Evan the warrior, his connection to the Earth and his wanting to be closer to it. He knew there is more to life than the UFC (which I like), malls and TV. Evan with his couragous adventurous spirit will surely be missed.

Evan was a real man. A guy you might have a beer with. I respect the way he lived and searched for adventure and meaning. Not everyone (Mike on Sept 9) is in this to be the next poster boy. Evan took his lumps and celebrated each win like a gentleman and generally happy he won.
I loved watching him fight. His heart was huge. Passing the way he did is both tragic and poetic. I do not take comfort in it and can not stomach people taking this opportunity spew ugliness on what was an incredible person and inspriational warrior. I would rather watch an Evan Tanner fight over other fighter's who come in like Prima Donna's like it is the WWE or F or whatever they are.
RIP Evan. You're a champ brother. Keep swinging for the fences man.

Mike... I got carried away by what I read and saw your name last but meant to post this towards that queer Rob... Good job Mike... and Rob; any time, any place.

Hey Mike... Sept 08, 2008. Looks like you're just a BIG puss#. Not only did Evan fight inside the ring, he did it outside the ring by outrageous outdoor adventures. He did this on his own doing... not troubling those trying to rescue him. It is unfortunate that the events occured like they did. I really doubt that he purposefully allowed this to happen; the running out of gas and dieing becaused of heat exposure. Now lets say you were in the ring, I doubt you would last the entire 3 rounds... Now lets say it was you against me, I know for sure you would not last one fuc#ing second with me you fuc#ing piece of sh*t. What do you have to say to that you fuc#ing fa@@ot?
Halotes done right!!!

Evan Tanner was much more than just a fighter, he was an absolutely brilliant person who lived a life that most of us can only envy. Rest in peace Evan.
Evan Quotes:
I want to go to these places, the quiet, timeless, ageless places, and sit, letting silence and solitude be my teachers.
The important part I feel, what I'm going to enjoy the most, is just getting far out, away from civilization, into the quiet of the desert, and standing under the cobalt blue night sky filled with countless stars. I want to stand under that sky again, a sky that most in this lifetime will never have the chance to see. It is a sky that can only be seen far out in the wilds, far away from the noise, and the drowning lights of the city. It is crisp and clean, pure and shimmering. It is a pilgrimage that each of us should take at least once in our lives, a pilgrimage to worship beneath god's sky.
I'm going on a pigrimage of sorts, a journey to solitude, to do some thinking, and to pay my respects to the great mysteries.
Things unfold as they’re meant to be, so all I have to do is go along for the ride and be prepared as I can for whatever comes up.”
“It sounds contradictory because I’m a free spirit and I’ve kinda bounced around, but I always had an overall plan or idea of the flow of my life,” he said. “Let’s say your life’s a work of art, a great picture; everything I’ve done has been a brush stroke on what will hopefully be a great work of art. Even the bad times, the crazy times, I don’t regret a thing. – it’s all absolutely necessary to create this masterpiece.”

Why did they wait till Friday when it was clear there was an issue Wednesday? What the hell...??
Posted by: what? | September 09, 2008 at 01:18 PM
At least Evan went the way he wanted, he didn't wait around and let old age get him. People should be happy, not sad, that he had enough love for himself and faith that he could do it on his own. He will be remembered by me as a man, not who fought and won, but a man who chased his dreams much farther than the rest of us!!! Carry on Evan where ever you are.
