CALEXICO --- Border Patrol agents last night arrested a suspect who turned out to be a convicted sex offender about 12 miles west of here, a news release from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said today.
The suspect was among three other undocumented immigrants who entered the U.S. by walking across a remote part of desert. Routine record checks showed that the suspect, whose name was not released, was a registered sex offender in the state of Washington and had been deported from the U.S. last year.
