A man suspected of pilfering an item from the Brighton Avenue Circle K convenience store in El Centro early today was arrested for allegedly scuffling with an officer over his baton, El Centro Police Cmdr. Paul Longoria said.
After obtaining a description of 39-year-old El Centro resident Jose Andrade following the 1:34 a.m. report of the theft, Officer William Yu spotted the suspect walking in the 500 block of State Street and ordered him to stop, Longoria said. But Andrade kept walking and entered a fenced parking lot where he allegedly tried slamming the gate on Yu who followed him, Longoria said.
A fight soon followed between Yu and Andrade, who stood five feet, 11 inches tall and weighed about 350 pounds, and the baton ended up in Andrade's possession, Longoria said. El Centro Police Officer Daniel Romero arrived at the scene and tackled Andrade to the ground. Andrade was arrested on suspicion of burglary, battery on a peace officer and resisting arrest, Longoria said.

Hey william maybe you shouldnt be so gung ho. Try to be more diplomatic or just polite. Its easy to see where youre heading. And now we know why youre so pissed off all the time, dont take it out on the public. We still have rights.
