A man was shot twice in what police described as an officer-involved shooting at Seventh and State streets in El Centro.
El Centro police Cmdr. Paul Longoria confirmed it was an officer-involved shooting but wouldn't say whether police shot a suspect or a suspect shot at police.
Police and emergency vehicles have surrounded the area around the Executive Inn on State Street.
No other information is available at this time, but according to police scanner traffic an ambulance was transporting one person with two gunshot wounds from a .45-caliber firearm. The person had been shot once below the ribs and another time in the pelvic region.
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
